NEW WELD FUME EXTRACTOR REMOVES OVER 75% FUMES & PARTICLES

  • INVESTMENT IN CLEAN BREATHING AIR
  • MAJOR UPGRADE
  • TAILOR-MADE FACILITY
We are constantly striving to improve the working environment for our team.
This month NHL installed a brand new weld fume extractor unit, which removes more than 75% of weld fumes and particles in the area surrounding our welding team.
The new extractor works using air pressure and volume. The recommended air flow from the standard Binzel torch is approx. 150m3 per hour.
The new system is based on a duct speed of up to 20m/second; pressure can be adjusted to suit the installed dust work system and hose length.
The vacuum unit as a W-rated filter removes all particulate and re-circulates clean air to the immediate area.
This major installation took around fifteen days on-site, after months of consultation, design and tailoring to NHL’s specific needs.
The new system not only provides coverage for all our welding bays but is future-proofed for further adaptations.
Between air-fed masks, rooftop and on-torch extraction; air quality is now vastly improved for everyone on the floor, with weld fumes and particles captured at source and remaining fumes captured elsewhere.
This is a significant investment for NHL and we’re delighted to provide our team with enhanced air quality and a real improvement to their everyday health and wellbeing.
The system was installed by Lajac AB and Andy Hyslop.
We’d like to extend a huge thanks to everyone involved in this project.
