We are currently recruiting for a Sourcing Specialist to join our team. The post-holder will be required to investigate new and additional sources of supply for core material, whilst simultaneously striving to achieve cost and quality objectives.

 The successful applicant will report directly to the Financial Controller.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential new supply sources and the impact of purchasing inside and outside of GB & Europe
  • Oversee the integration of new suppliers into existing company purchasing procedures
  • Carry out periodic supplier audits to ensure appropriate standards are being maintained
  • Prepare & implement supplier risk mitigation plans
  • Identify and take responsibility for projects that will improve the purchasing department
  • Obtain best pricing for purchased material to achieve cost savings whilst maintaining full quality priorities
  • Ensure the timely purchase of designated raw materials to meet production scheduling needs
  • Build strong working relationships with supplier network
  • Undertake regular company travel

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years purchasing/supply chain experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience co-ordinating and dealing with the importing of raw materials from outside NI
  • Meticulous, analytical, and highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects to successful completion
  • Willingness to undertake regular travel for company business (to include Europe & ROW travel)
  • Full driving license and access to own transport
  • Excellent, effective communication skills both verbal & written
  • Strong team building and collaboration skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in the engineering sector is desirable
  • CIPS membership or working towards
  • Previous MRP experience

Hours of work:
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 -17:00
Friday: 08:00 -14:00
