The Role:

To assist with our growth plans, we are currently recruiting for a business development manager. This pivotal role is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a successful and well-established company with plenty of untapped potential.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for key customers
  • Pro-actively seek business development opportunities and work towards achieving the company growth objectives
  • Assist with tendering processes for new business
  • Generate and pursue leads for opportunities to develop new business
  • Work closely with existing customer base to develop accounts further
  • Customer management – from lead generation up until dispatch of order and aftercare
  • Provide an excellent customer experience ensuring customer expectations are managed and optimum satisfaction levels are maintained
  • Build and maintain an excellent rapport with customers and all stakeholders through exceptional communication & negotiation skills
  • Ensure the timely resolution of any escalated customer complaints or queries
  • Manage the sales appointment diary to ensure regular face to face customer engagement and leads are suitably pursued
  • Keep up to date with technological & virtual tools to assist with interacting with customers in an efficient manner
  • Ensure the company is suitably represented at relevant trade shows and events
  • Collaborate with marketing personnel to work towards heightened company & product awareness
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities and threats to the business
  • Maintain accurate records and produce regular sales reports for the senior team

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years account management experience preferably within the engineering sector
  • Willingness to undertake regular travel (predominantly UK & ROI)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain long standing relationships
  • Proven track record in selling & developing new business
  • Adaptable with the ability to learn new products, markets & sales strategies
  • Confident and capable of working on own initiative
  • Experience in managing large high value accounts
  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • Full clean driving license
  • Sound level of IT literacy
  • Willingness to immerse oneself in the NHL culture and become a brand ambassador for the company
  • Commercially astute & highly confidential
  • A positive, committed and ambitious approach
  • MRP experience

Desirable Criteria:

  • 5 years + key account / sales management experience
  • Engineering sector experience
  • Experience of sales marketing activities (co-ordinating representation at trade shows etc)

Hours of Work:

Mon-Thurs: 08:00 – 17:00
Fri: 08:00 – 14:00

Due to the nature of the role, some flexibility will be required with working hours on occasion.
