Assembly Operative Evening Shift

We are currently accepting applications for Assembly / Testing Operatives to join our evening shift team.

The successful applicants will report directly to the department team leader.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Reading & accurately interpreting engineering drawings & works orders & following production drawings
  • Assemble parts to form finished products using hand & power tools
  • Perform in-process quality checks & inspection of final assembled part against company quality standards before moving on to the next stage of the production process (test)
  • Adhering to engineering testing instructions to test hydraulic cylinders
  • Set up & operate heavy duty test rigs
  • Detect & report defective cylinders to supervisor and engage with NC processes
  • Ensure the safe & secure movement of product throughout the factory
  • Operate in an efficient manner ensuring efficiency targets are consistently achieved
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping
  • Adhere to all H & S rules in place
  • Engaging with company MRP system

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous assembly / fitting / testing experience within the engineering industry (min. 1 year)
  • Ability to read & accurately interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using various hand tools
  • Mechanical aptitude with a meticulous eye for detail
  • Problem solving nature
  • Previous experience of undertaking manual labour
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Awareness of H & S relative to the workshop environment
  • Strong numeracy & literacy skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
  • Ability to work to efficiency & quality targets independently
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong timekeeping & attendance record

Desirable Criteria:

  • 2 years + assembly / fitting / testing experience within the engineering sector
  • Previous experience in the hydraulics sector is preferred
  • MRP experience is advantageous

Hours of Work:

  • Monday Thursday: 16:45 – 03:15
  • Friday: OFF
